The Ugly Duckling

How to impact the viewer with a classic story?

This was the main line of thought that i used while i creating this project.

For that to work, i used the concept of contrast as much as i could in the main art, focusing on showing to the viewer our protagonist alone with a sad expression all over his face as he looks to his side.

There was a reason for that too: The intention is to lead the person that got interested in the book to look at the backcover and realize that is completelly different from the front.

While doing the project i started to play around with the idea that on his journey, our main protagonist would meet other birds as well, helping him realize that everyone is different and that is nothing wrong with him, leading him to finally hit his true form: a beautifull swan.

I hope you guys enjoys my take on this classic story
